Our Commitment: Zero AI Training on Your Content
Your creative content is important to us, and we want to be completely transparent:
- ✓Your videos are never used for AI training
- ✓Your videos are never used for machine learning
- ✓Your recordings belong to you alone
- ✓Your usage patterns are not sold to third parties for AI development
CyphrCam may analyze your practice data to provide personalized insights, but your data is NEVER used to train AI models or shared with third parties for AI purposes.
Introduction
CyphrCam ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS application and website.
Information Stored on Your Device
CyphrCam stores the following information locally on your device:
- Device calibration settings for Bluetooth latency
- Your preferences (video quality, volume levels, UI settings)
- Practice stats (recording counts, streaks, session durations)
- Body state check-ins (mind-body metrics you enter before/after sessions)
- Music notes and tags you create
- Playlists and track organization
- Video recordings and drafts during processing
Video and audio content stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Analytics & Usage Data
To improve CyphrCam, we collect anonymous usage analytics through PostHog:
What we collect:
- App events (recordings started, exports completed, features used)
- Device type, app version, and iOS version
- Aggregated metrics (recording counts, streak data)
- Calibration quality scores (bucketed ranges, not exact values)
What we do NOT send to analytics:
- Your video or audio content
- Your music library or song titles
- Your journal entries or body check-in details
- Your exact location
- Your personal identity (analytics use an anonymous device ID)
You can disable analytics in the app under Settings → Privacy.
Cloud Sync (When Signed In)
If you create an account and sign in, the following data syncs to our servers (Supabase) for backup and cross-device access:
- Account info (email, first name)
- Practice stats and recording history
- Body state check-ins
- Music notes, tags, and playlists
- Calibration data
- Referral tracking (your referral code and signup attribution)
If you don't sign in, all data stays on your device only. Cloud sync is optional.
Practice Insights & Body Check-Ins
CyphrCam tracks your practice journey to provide personalized insights:
- Recording frequency, streaks, and time patterns
- Session durations and export rates
- Body state metrics you enter (nourishment, mind, rest, movement, body connection, presence)
- Pre/post session comparisons and trends over time
You can disable insights tracking in Settings → Privacy. This data is used only to show YOU your own progress — it is never sold or shared with third parties.
Website Data Collection
When you sign up for our waitlist or apply for beta access, we collect:
- Name and email address
- Phone number and Instagram handle (beta application only)
- Dance style, experience level, and device information (beta application only)
This data is stored in Google Sheets and used solely to manage our waitlist and beta program communications.
Device Permissions (iOS App)
CyphrCam requests certain iOS permissions to function:
- Camera — To record video during your dance sessions
- Microphone — To capture ambient audio during recording
- Photo Library — To save your finished videos to Photos
- Apple Music Library — To access your music for synchronization
- Bluetooth — To detect headphones and measure audio latency
- Notifications — For practice reminders and tips (optional)
You control these permissions through iOS Settings → CyphrCam.
Third-Party Service Providers
We use trusted, security-audited service providers to operate CyphrCam. These companies do not own your data and are contractually bound to process it only on our behalf:
- PostHog (analytics) — SOC 2 Type II certified, GDPR compliant. Collects anonymous app usage data so we can improve CyphrCam. Does not receive your videos, music, journal entries, or personal identity. You can opt out in Settings → Privacy.
- Supabase (cloud database & authentication) — SOC 2 Type II certified, GDPR compliant, with encryption at rest and in transit. Stores your account, practice data, and content organization only if you choose to sign in.
- Apple (authentication & App Store) — Standard iOS services for Sign in with Apple and App Store review prompts.
- Google (authentication) — Used only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Google Sheets (website only) — Stores waitlist and beta application data for program communications.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. These providers process data solely to deliver CyphrCam's features. Your data is not used for advertising, profiling, or AI training by any of these providers on our behalf.
Your Rights
You're in control of your data:
- Disable analytics in Settings → Privacy
- Disable insights tracking in Settings → Privacy
- Use the app without signing in (all data stays local)
- Delete the app to remove all local data
- Request account deletion by emailing us
- You own all your video content
Children's Privacy
CyphrCam does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is designed to be safe for all ages.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, for material changes, displaying a notice in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Legal Jurisdiction
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA.
